Morgan Duncan Case: Netflix Explores Tragic Disappearance

Morgan Duncan, a 27-year-old father of two, mysteriously disappeared from his Columbia, South Carolina home in November 2023, a case later featured in Netflix’s “Missing: Dead or Alive?” docuseries. His disappearance immediately raised alarms among investigators and family, as it was uncharacteristic of him to vanish, especially given his need for schizophrenia medication. This critical health requirement heightened concerns, prompting a thorough investigation into his whereabouts.

Tragically, Duncan's partial remains were discovered in a woodland area in June 2024, with additional remains found in a storm drain in December 2024. Authorities concluded that Duncan was murdered following an argument over a $300 drug debt. Investigators believe he attempted to negotiate with drug dealer Eric Greene, promising repayment after his next paycheck. However, the altercation escalated violently, resulting in Greene killing Duncan.

Witnesses from Duncan’s apartment building reported seeing Greene assault him, leading to Greene’s arrest in February 2024. In July 2025, Greene was convicted of Duncan's murder and sentenced to 57 years in prison, despite his insistence during the trial that he was innocent. Julivia Waller, also known as “Sunshine,” and Jerome Harper were also arrested on accessory charges, suspected of assisting in hiding Duncan’s remains or covering up evidence. Waller was acquitted in July 2025, while Harper’s case remains unresolved. Duncan’s mother, LaTanza Duncan, expressed profound grief and anger, stating her son “didn't do anything to deserve what happened to him.” She emphasized her belief that Duncan, as a vulnerable adult struggling with mental health, was taken advantage of, highlighting the tragic risks faced by such individuals in the community. She described the entire process as “horrible,” requiring immense strength.
