Rob and Michele Reiner, married since 1989, were parents to Jake, Nick, and Romy, with Rob also being the adoptive father to Tracy. The couple was discovered dead in their Brentwood home on December 14. Their son, Nick Reiner, 32, was subsequently arrested near the University of Southern California and is being held without bail on suspicion of murder, specifically for stabbing his parents. The tragedy is further complicated by Nick's documented history of substance abuse and behavioral struggles. An insider revealed that Romy, in particular, was deeply traumatized by Nick's actions and the constant pain her parents endured because of him. Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman has since charged Nick Reiner with two counts of first-degree murder, meaning he faces life in prison without parole or the death penalty. Nick appeared in court without entering a plea.
