Rapper POORSTACY Dies at 26: A Look Back at His Music Career

American rapper Carlito Milfort, known professionally as POORSTACY, passed away at the age of 26 in November 2025. Based in Palm Beach, Florida, Milfort was a versatile musician whose work spanned hip hop, punk rock, and heavy metal, showcasing a broad artistic range during his relatively short but impactful career.

POORSTACY built a notable discography, releasing his debut EP, *I Don’t Care*, in September 2019, followed by *I Don’t Rap* in September 2020. His first full-length album, *The Breakfast Club*, arrived in March 2020, and he subsequently released his second album, *Party At the Cemetery*, in October 2021. He gained popularity with tracks such as “I Can’t Sleep,” featuring Iann Dior, “Love Spells,” “Public Enemy,” and “Children of the Dark.” Milfort also secured significant collaborations, including two songs, “Nothing Left” and “Hills Have Eyes,” with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, further elevating his profile within the music industry.

Beyond his individual releases, POORSTACY’s music extended to film, with a feature on the soundtrack for the 2020 movie *Bill & Ted Face the Music*. This soundtrack earned a nomination at the 2021 Grammy Awards in the best compilation soundtrack for visual media category, underscoring his contribution to a critically recognized project.

Milfort’s death occurred in the early hours of November 29, 2025, confirmed by the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner and the Boca Raton Police Department. Reports indicate he was staying at a Boca Raton hotel for 10 days with a woman and a toddler before being transported to a local hospital for a medical emergency on the morning of his passing. No other individuals were reported injured or hospitalized in connection with the incident. As of the time of publication, the official cause of POORSTACY’s death has not been publicly disclosed.
